LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Here are some of the companies whose shares are making notable moves in European trade on Wednesday.
Decliners
Banco Santander (SAN) dropped 2% after the banking giant said Chairman Emilio Botín died overnight.
Stora Enso lost 2.8% after Credit Suisse cut the pulp-and-paper maker to underperform from neutral.
Shares of Sports Direct International lost 2% after the retailer said sales in the first quarter were impacted by England's "disappointing" World Cup performance.
Shares of Deutsche Lufthansa gave up 1.1% after its pilots at Munich's airport went on strike, grounding the airline's flights in and out of the city.
Gainers
Kingfisher added 3% after the home-improvement said Chief Executive Ian Cheshire will step down and appointed Véronique Laury, the head of French unit Castorama, as the new CEO.
Fiat SpA climbed 2.1% after the company said Ferrari Chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo will resign. Fiat is a majority stakeholder of Ferrari.
Shares of Investment AB Kinnevik put on 0.8% after Rocket Internet, which is partly owned by Kinnevik, announced plans for an initial public offering.
