Pernod Ricard SA said Tuesday that its Spanish subsidiary has bought a majority stake in Vermuteria de Galicia, the Galician producer of craft vermouth brand St. Petroni.
The French spirits maker didn't disclose financial details of the deal which added the Vermu Rojo, Vermu Blanco and Bitter varieties of St. Petroni to its brand portfolio.
"With St. Petroni, we are starting a new and exciting journey by adding to Pernod Ricard Espana's portfolio its first vermouth, entering into a category that will help us to strengthen our presence in the aperitif segment," said Guillaume Girard-Reydet, chief executive of Pernod Ricard Espana.
