PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)--Symbio, la coentreprise de Michelin et Faurecia dans l'hydrogène, a annoncé mardi un accord avec l'allemand Schaeffler afin de créer une coentreprise dédiée à la production de plaques bipolaires, un composant clé des piles à combustible à membrane.
La coentreprise sera basée à Haguenau, en Alsace, où elle mettra en service une première usine en 2024. Cette usine doit atteindre une production de 50 millions de plaques par an et employer plus de 120 personnes d'ici à 2030. Symbio et Schaeffler seront ses seuls clients.
Détenue à part égales par les équipementiers automobiles Michelin et Faurecia, Symbio a pour objectif une capacité de production de 200.000 piles à hydrogène en 2030 et espère réaliser à cet horizon un chiffre d'affaires d'environ 1,5 milliard d'euros.
