Please be advised that Kiln plc was notified on Wednesday 21st January 2004 that
following the exercise of nil paid options in the Kiln Employee Trust under the
terms of the Kiln Trustees Limited 1998 Unapproved Share Option Scheme by a
former employee of Kiln the shareholding in the Company of the Employee Trust
has been reduced to 18,895,744 ordinary shares representing 9.26% of the current
issued share capital.

As the executive directors of Kiln are potential beneficiaries of the Kiln
Employee Trust, they therefore may become entitled, when the Kiln Employee Trust
makes a distribution of either income or assets, to benefit from the shares in
Kiln held by the trust.
