FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 21 March 2003

                               GNE PRESS RELEASE

Global Natural Energy plc is pleased to announce that its 50.01% subsidiary
Petrol Express Limited ("Petrol Express") has expanded its petrol station
network with the addition of five sites.

Petrol Express (through its subsidiary Thames Rico Service Stations) has
purchased a freehold site for #425,000 from Copes Service Stations and it has
taken commercial leases on four sites from Freeheart Limited ("Freeheart"). In
consideration for negotiating favourable commercial leases, the Group has agreed
to provide a limited guarantee in respect of Freeheart's borrowings in an
initial amount of #350,000, which will reduce by #100,000 every six months. In
consideration of the payment of an option premium of #150,000, Petrol Express
has been granted a 12 month option to acquire the entire issued capital of
Freeheart. The option can be extended annually for up to seven years by Petrol
Express by payment of a further #75,000 each year.

The five new sites had aggregate fuel sales of 22 million litres in 2002 which
will add materially to the current Petrol Express sales. Petrol Express intends
to renovate and rebrand the sites under new supply agreements with Texaco and
Londis. It is not anticipated that there will be significant further
administration costs arising out of the operation of the new sites.

Dennis Woods, Chief Executive of Petrol Express said:

"The sites are well positioned for integration into the existing network of
Petrol Express and for the fuel card business Fuel Up, which was bought by the
Group last year. The Group's capital expenditure has been minimised by being
able to negotiate an option to acquire the four freehold sites if they perform
well over the next seven years."

Global Natural Energy is due to release its 2002 year end figures by the end of
April 2003, including the first part year of consolidated Petrol Express results
following the takeover of Petrol Express last summer.
