French construction and concessions company Eiffage SA (FGR.FR) Wednesday said its board has named Pierre Berger, currently a top executive at cross-town rival Vinci SA (DG.FR), as its next chief executive.
Vinci's press service wasn't immediately able to comment.
Jean-Francois Roverato, 66, currently holds the dual title of chairman and chief executive at Eiffage.
On Roverato's suggestion, Eiffage said its board had "co-opted" Pierre Berger as a director and appointed him deputy CEO, effective as soon as he joins the company at the beginning of next year.
The board decided he will become chief executive from July 1, 2011, Eiffage said.
