BLOCK LISTING

Datamonitor PLC ("Datamonitor" or "the Company")

Application has been made to the UK Listing Authority and to the London Stock
Exchange for the block listing of 2,650,000 ordinary 10 pence shares ("ordinary
shares").  These ordinary shares are to be issued pursuant to the exercise of
options under the 1998 Share Option Plan (50,000 ordinary shares), the 2000
Unapproved Share Option Plan (500,000 ordinary shares), the 2000 Approved Share
Option Plan (750,000 ordinary shares) The No.2 Plan (1,000,000 ordinary shares),
the Inland Revenue Approved Savings Related Share Option Plan (100,000 ordinary
shares) and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan (250,000 ordinary shares).

When the options have been exercised, the ordinary shares will be issued
credited as fully paid and will rank pari passu with the existing ordinary
shares of the Company.
