PARIS--French insurer AXA SA (CS.FR) Thursday reported a rise in total revenue in the first nine months of 2016, boosted by higher sales in its property and casualty insurance business.
Europe's second-largest insurer by market value said revenue rose to 76 billion euros ($84.72 billion) in the nine months to the end of September from EUR75.3 billion a year earlier.
Revenue at its life and savings division slipped 0.9% to EUR44.2 billion, while property and casualty revenue was 2.3% higher at EUR25.4 billion.
Asset management revenue fell 6.5% to EUR2.7 billion.
The company said its solvency ratio--a key measure of an insurance company's financial strength--stood at 191% at the end of September.
