Airbus Tries to Convince Buyers to Switch Away from A350-800 -- Market Talk

Airbus Group has to convince four more buyers of the A350-800 jet to switch to other models before it can easily cancel the poorly-selling aircraft. Hawaiian Airlines said yesterday it would switch an order of six A350-800s to A330-800neo wide-bodies instead. Airbus introduced the A330neo, for "new engine option," last week at the Farnborough air show and said it expected buyers for the A350-800 to switch to the new plane or the larger A350-900 due to enter service this year. Yemenia has the largest order still on the books with a commitment for 10 A350-800s. Aeroflot and Asiana Airlines both have ordered eight and lessor AWAS has committed to buying two of the planes.
