KFC Launches Stress-Free Festive Feast Meal with a Contest Saluting America's Best Holiday Decorator LOUISVILLE, Ky., Nov. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- A survey(1) by KFC found that nearly 65 percent of Americans feel the holidays are more stressful than tax season. To help alleviate this seasonal angst, KFC is introducing the Festive Feast, a complete on-the-go meal for busy families. KFC is also introducing the Festive Fanatics Contest, challenging the country to showcase its most eye-catching holiday decorations. One in four Americans say they'd consider pulling the plug on a neighbor's over-the-top holiday decorations, but the winner of the contest won't necessarily have to have a professional's taste in holiday decorating. Revelers can enter photos and videos of their festively (and tastefully) decorated homes, with the grand prize winner claiming a year's worth of free KFC(R) as well as having their December electricity bill and a December credit card bill paid by KFC. "KFC understands that American families are time-starved during the holidays and often overlook eating dinner together," said James O'Reilly, chief marketing officer for KFC. "We're rewarding families with an entertaining contest that puts celebrating back into the holidays, as well as the perfect meal option for sharing dinner with the family -- KFC's Festive Feast." Nearly one in three Americans feel they could use a helper to assist with decorating their homes and cooking their meals. KFC has the cooking covered with the Festive Feast, leaving more time for America to work on the decorations. The KFC Festive Feast includes everything needed for a family meal; 10 pieces of chicken, two large home-style sides, six flaky buttermilk biscuits, a mega jug soft drink and a chocolate chip cake. Deck the Halls, But Not For Long! Nearly half of Americans (49.4%) feel it is proper etiquette to take down holiday decorations by the end of January. Surprisingly, a similar number of people (45.2%) think holiday decorations should be down by New Year's Day. Are You a Holiday Decorating Dude or Diva? Beginning November 28th, log on to http://www.kfc.com/ to enter KFC's Festive Fanatics Contest and follow the instructions to upload your photo or video of your festively decorated home. The grand prize winner will be awarded KFC food for a year and KFC will also pay both the grand prize winner's electric and a credit card bill for December. To spread more joy, 11 semifinalists will each receive KFC(R) for a month, valued at more than $150. KFC's Festive Fanatics Contest starts on November 28, 2007 and runs until December 14, 2007. No purchase necessary. Visit http://www.kfc.com/ for specific details about the contest and for additional information on KFC(R)'s Festive Feast. While at http://www.kfc.com/, visitors can also purchase KFC gift checks, a perfect stocking-stuffer.
