National Semiconductor Showcases Latest Analog Products and
Highlights Its Innovative PowerWise Power Management Solution at ARM
Developers' Conference
An Invitation to Visit National at the ARM Developers' Conference, Santa Clara
Convention Center, October 19-21, Booth #419
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
WHAT:
The ARM Developers' Conference showcases ARM and its technology and tools
partners, including National Semiconductor's PowerWise(TM) technology for
powering next-generation portable devices. The conference offers more
than 180 classes, labs, hands-on workshops and panel discussions, with
presentations from five of National's portable power management
engineers.
NATIONAL DEMOS:
National will feature four power-saving technology and product demonstrations:
-- PowerWise Technology -- Adaptive Voltage Scaling -- DVS926 Platform
This demo shows power reduction using dynamic and adaptive voltage
scaling running an MPEG4 movie clip to demonstrate power savings. This
demo also highlights the ARM Intelligent Energy Manager (IEM) plus
National's PowerWise APC and LP5550 EMU
-- PowerWise Technology -- Dual Domain Adaptive Voltage Scaling Featuring
a PowerWise-Enabled Camera:
This demo shows multi-voltage-domain adaptive voltage scaling on the
TSMC 130nm process with dual ARM7 TDMI-S CPU cores running up to 96MHz.
The demonstration platform will include full instrumentation to display
measured power reduction with voltage and frequency scaling. This is
the first demonstration of a fully integrated PowerWise Advanced Power
Controller (APC) and provides active image captures.
-- PWI(TM) Open-Standard Evaluation Kit
Demonstrates the PWI open-standard interface for connectivity between
SoC and the voltage regulation system
-- PWI-Compliant Energy Management Unit
Highlights National's LP5550 and PWI 1.0-compliant EMU
-- "Flip-style" cellular handset:
This demonstrates National's technology leadership products for
cellular handsets and features the LM4857 3D/stereo audio subsystem,
highly power-efficient LP3936, FPD94028/93140 chipset, and LM2501/02
chipsets with Mobile Pixel Link technology.
