AGM STATEMENT


At the AGM of Northern Petroleum Plc held today all resolutions were passed.


The following statement was made by Northern Chairman, Richard Latham:


"The past year saw a number of achievements, the reporting of a profit, the
establishment of a substantial cash position from the profitable sale of an
asset, the purchase of oil production and the establishment of your Company as
the Operator of a substantial number of exploration licenses on and offshore and
a producing oil field. Also, our reservoir interpretation work in the South of
England was validated by Scott Pickford leading to the reporting of 3.9 million
barrels of probable reserves of recoverable oil at Sandhills.


We now look forward to the future of drilling at Avington and Sandhills in the
South of England and new operations at Ayoluengo in Spain to increase oil
production. In addition I expect that before we assemble next year progress will
have been reported to you on the highly prospective licenses recently awarded to
us in West Sussex and Hampshire. In addition we are enthusiastic as to the
eventual production rates which Ramco Energy Plc will achieve from the Seven
Heads gas development in which we have a significant investment.


It has been a good year and remarkable how much has been achieved by a small
staff who have worked very hard. However I have every expectation that the next
twelve months will be even better."
