Further to our letter dated 1st December 2003 informing you that the Scheme of
Arrangement and Amalgamation has become effective from 1st December 2003, we
wish to inform you that Friday, the 2nd January 2004 has been fixed as the
Record Date for determining the eligibility of the members of E.I.D.- Parry
(India) Ltd. for allotment of 1 equity share of Rs. 10 each credited as fully
paid in Coromandel Fertilisers Ltd, for every 3 equity shares of Rs. 10 each
held in E.I.D. Parry (India) Ltd. in terms of the scheme of Arrangement for
Demerger of the Farm Inputs Division of our company to Coromandel Fertilisers
Ltd.
