BacTech Environmental Corporation ("BacTech" or the "Company") (CNSX:BAC)(OTC:BCCEF)(WKN:A1H4TY) today announced that it has commenced Field Investigation on the future bioleach remediation processing plant site at Snow Lake, Manitoba. The Field Investigation includes the drilling of deep test holes with a continuous flight auger drill rig. Samples will be collected at regular intervals during the drilling program for analysis, and the installation of Piezometers to monitor the groundwater table. The investigation results will provide detailed site conditions to begin the Front End Engineering Design ("FEED") - civil specifications for the plant and tank farm areas. In addition, the Company also reports that the Environmental Act Proposal ("EAP") was submitted to the Director of the Environmental Assessment and Licensing Branch, Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship. The EAP was completed by Golder Associates Ltd. of Winnipeg, Manitoba, under direction by the BacTech technical team. "Both of these events move us one step closer to realizing our objectives, that being building North America's first bioleach plant for tailings reclamation, and in this case, the remediation of approximately 300,000 tonnes of arsenopyrite concentrate impounded on the surface," said Ross Orr, President and CEO of BacTech. BacTech profile BacTech Environmental Corporation holds the perpetual, exclusive, royalty-free rights to use the patented BACOX bioleaching technology for the reclamation of tailings and mining waste materials. In December 2011, BacTech signed a contract with the Mines Branch of the Manitoba Department of Innovation, Energy and Mines to remediate an arsenopyrite residue stockpile ("ARS") situated at the Snow Lake Mine in Snow Lake, Manitoba, to eliminate further leaching of Arsenic generated within the ARS into the surrounding watershed. The Company continues to field enquiries globally with respect to additional opportunities for remediation.
