Advisory Board to Advise Senior Leadership on Strategic and Overall Business Development LENEXA, Kan., Dec. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ICOP Digital, Inc. (NASDAQ:ICOP) (PCX:ICOP), a leading provider of digital in-car video systems for law enforcement, today announced the formation of a Corporate Advisory Board, created to advise the senior management team on strategic and overall business development with an overriding objective of assisting ICOP Digital in achieving greater market penetration. Former NYPD Chief Lou Anemone, who has achieved international acclaim in the global law enforcement industry, has been appointed as the Advisory Board's founding member. Over the coming months, ICOP expects to expand the Board with the addition of up to six more members. Commenting on the appointment, Dave Owen, Chief Executive Officer of ICOP Digital, noted, "I consider it an immense privilege to have one of the most accomplished law enforcement and domestic security experts in the Country join the ICOP team. As the founding member of our newly formed Corporate Advisory Board, Lou will undoubtedly play a significant role and have profound impact on the long term success of ICOP Digital." Chief Lou Anemone is a 35 year veteran of the New York Police Department. For the last five years of his tenure, he was the Chief Operating Officer, the highest sworn officer rank in the Department. Further, Anemone is noted as one of the co-developers of the Compstat Unit, created to provide the Department with snapshots of preliminary crime statistics which allow tactical planning and deployment of resources to fight crime. In 1996, Compstat received national recognition as a recipient of the Ford Foundation and Harvard's Kennedy School of Government Award for Innovations in American Government. During his tenure with the NYPD, homicides were reduced 60 percent, violent crime dropped 50 percent, and police use of deadly force fell 60%. Anemone also played a key role in the 1995 merger of the New York Housing Police Department and the New York City Transit Police Department into the New York Police Department. In 1996, Chief Anemone made sure the Cold Case Squad was successfully put into place with some of the best detectives from the newly merged police departments. He now owns and operates his own law enforcement and counter-terrorism consulting company, Anemone Consulting, Inc., which in addition to providing law enforcement consulting services, is developing software which will accomplish worldwide some of the things that Compstat did for New York City. He frequently lectures around the country about domestic security, most recently at a conference at Northeastern University, which was jointly sponsored by The Police Institute at Rutgers University, Boston Police Department and Massachusetts' Public Safety Department. Chief Anemone is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysts. He was Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Nyack Hospital, where he served from 1999-2004 and was a member of the Board of Directors of the United Way. In addition, Chief Anemone served as the Deputy Director of the New York State Office of Public Security in the immediate aftermath of the attacks of September 11th 2001, and most recently (December 2001 - May 2003) as the inaugural Deputy Executive Director/Security of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority of New York. In this most recent assignment, Chief Anemone worked to improve security (again, after the attacks of 9-11), throughout the entire transportation system of New York, including bridges, tunnels, buses, subways and railroads.
