BREMBO TO RECEIVE 55 MILLION FROM THE EIB FOR A RESEARCH PROJECT ON LIGHT, ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY BRAKES
The four-year programme with a total cost of 116 million will be developed at the Group's Research and Development Centre, in the Kilometro Rosso Science and Technology Park
Today Brembo and the European Investment Bank (EIB) have signed a financing contract for 55 million aimed at supporting the Bergamo-based company's research and development activity in the fields of control of the environmental impact and further reduction of the weight of braking systems. The loan is intended to support a four-year project with a total cost of approximately 116 million, in the field of product and production process innovation. The research programme aims at improving the performances and safety standards of high-performance braking systems through the identification of lighter materials and innovative components capable of further reducing the environmental impact and emissions of particulate matter into the atmosphere. The ultimate goal is to increase the quality and safety of vehicles, while also fostering better integration of modern hybrid and electric vehicles and ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems).
