                                Board Appointment

AIT Group plc ("AIT" or "the Group") today announces that Hugh McCartney has
been appointed as a non-executive director of the Group.  He has over 25 years
of experience in the software business and until 2002, he was Senior Vice
President of Sales and Services and General Manager, World-wide Operations, for
Merant plc based in San Francisco.

Prior to joining Merant, Hugh held senior Sales and General Management positions
in Europe with database vendors Sybase Inc. and Ingres Inc. and application
software company MSA Inc

He is currently a non-executive Director of Alterian plc, which is listed on the
London Stock Exchange, and is non-executive chairman of kVault Software Limited

His appointment to the Board of AIT will be effective immediately.

Commenting today, Richard Hicks, Chairman of AIT, said:

"I am delighted that Hugh has accepted our invitation to join the Board.  His
experience in managing international software businesses will be invaluable as
AIT moves forward."

AIT confirms that it is not aware of any other details requiring disclosure
under Listing Rule 16.4 in respect of the appointment of Hugh McCartney.
