Pursuant to 17. 30 of the Listing Rules, we hereby inform you that, at the
meeting of the Board of Directors of NEC Corporation held on October 23, 2003,
it was decided that interim dividends for the 166th Business Period of NEC
Corporation (from April 1, 2003 to March 31, 2004) will be paid as follows:

              (2)      Record Date               September 30, 2003

              (3)      Ex-dividend Date of the Tokyo Stock Exchange
