Pursuant to Paragraph (2) of the Listing Agreement dated September 2, 1981, NEC
Corporation (the "Company") wishes to inform you that a meeting of the Board of
Directors of the Company will be held on July 31, 2003 (Tokyo time) at which
time the Board will decide upon the first quarter financial results of the
Company on a consolidated basis for the six months ended June 30, 2003.  Such
first quarter financial results will be published after the said board meeting.
