German publisher Springer Science+Business Media's owners EQT Corp. (EQT) and GIC will approach potential buyers with information packages next week, with the aim to fetch up to 4 billion euros ($5.2 billion), the Reuters news agency said Wednesday on its website, citing two unnamed people close to the process.
The owners are eyeing German media group Betelsmann, British business media group Informa PLC, Dutch publisher Wolters Kluwer and Anglo-Dutch company Reed Elsevier N.V., a person close to the owners of Springer Science said.
Private equity groups like KKR & Co LP, Carlyle Group LP, Providence, Blackstone Group LP, CVC and BC Partners will also get information packages, the sources said in the report.
Springer Science and EQT declined to comment while GIC wasn't immediately available for comment, the report said.
