NiSource Inc., an energy holding company based in Merrillville, Ind., said it will name Donald Brown chief financial officer, effective when NiSource and Columbia Pipeline Group separate into two companies, by mid-2015. NiSource named Mr. Brown, most recently finance chief of UGI Utilities Inc., executive vice president of its finance team.

-- Coca-Cola Amatil Ltd., an Australian soft-drink seller and distributor, tapped Martyn Roberts as group CFO, effective in the company's third quarter, succeeding Nessa O'Sullivan. Mr. Roberts is finance director for supermarkets at retailer Woolworths Ltd.

-- Spirit Realty Capital Inc., a Scottsdale, Ariz., real-estate investment trust, appointed Phillip Joseph Jr. CFO and treasurer, according to a regulatory filing, succeeding Michael Bender, who it named to the newly created post of chief accounting officer. Mr. Joseph was a managing director and global treasurer at Prologis Inc. until 2013.

-- Alere Inc., a medical diagnostic-products manufacturer based in Waltham, Mass., named James Hinrichs CFO, succeeding David Teitel. Mr. Hinrichs was previously finance chief of CareFusion Corp., which Becton, Dickinson & Co. acquired this month.

-- Paramount Group Inc., a New York-based real-estate investment trust, chose Michael Walsh as finance chief. Mr. Walsh was previously a senior vice president of finance and capital markets at Boston Properties Inc. He succeeds David Spence, who Paramount said "will be attending to various family matters before exploring other opportunities."

-- Seven Generations Energy Ltd., a Canadian petroleum company, appointed Chris Law CFO. Mr. Law was a vice president of corporate planning at the company.
