BHP Billiton Ltd. (BHP, BHP.AU), the world's biggest miner, says a global agreement on climate-change action would slow but not stop demand growth for most of the commodities it produces. Revealing projections for the first time as December's Paris Climate Conference nears, BHP Chief Commercial Officer Dean Dalla Valle assured investors in London Tuesday that the company has "stress-tested" its global resources business, which includes coal mines and oil fields. ADRs rose 0.82% to $30.73.

Efforts by an investor group to buy out Chinese Internet-services provider Qihoo continue apace despite struggles in the Chinese stock market, a top company executive said on Tuesday. The group, which includes company co-founder and president Qi Xiangdong, is waiting for a special committee established by Qihoo's board to evaluate the offer. "This is going to be a relatively long process," Mr. Qi said. He declined to give a timeline. ADRs fell 2% to $45.12.

Norway's Statoil said Tuesday construction of the just-completed Polarled gas pipeline cost 7.5 billion Norwegian kroner ($880 million), down from the initial budget of NOK11.1 billion. ADRs rose 2.3% to $14.17.
