Adacel (ASX:ADA) announced today it has successfully completed site acceptance for their MaxSim Tower Simulation System installed at the Hungarian Air Navigation Services’ training facilities.
During the initial delivery Adacel installed a front projection 180-degree tower simulator with supporting components and airport visual databases. The simulator will be expanded to a full 360-degree continuous field-of-view during phase two in 2011 when the system is moved to new facilities. The state of the art tower simulator will complement the Adacel radar simulation systems already relied on by HungaroControl in their training programs.
Attila Nafradi, Head of the Simulator Unit, stated “The cutting-edge technology delivered by Adacel has opened a new dimension. The 3D Tower simulator allows us to discover new depths in simulation training and expand our training capabilities. The use of the new simulator has resulted in increased realism. With the new simulator, simulation training will be extended, increasing the efficiency of air traffic controller training.”
The Hungarian ANS purchased their original Adacel radar simulation system in 1997 and throughout their relationship Adacel has worked in close cooperation to update system features to keep pace with HungaroControl’s growing requirements. “Providing the best tools to accomplish ATC training and planning has always been a top priority for Adacel” said Fred Sheldon, Adacel CEO North America. “It has been gratifying during our many years with HungaroControl to help them achieve their mission.”
Adacel’s simulation systems permit the development of higher proficiency levels at an earlier stage in controller training. They reduce considerably the work involved in the preparation and conduct of training and can significantly decrease the length of the qualification period for controllers. The MaxSim ATC simulators have also enabled prior testing and training for procedural changes necessitated by temporary and permanent alterations to airports and airspace.
