given on 5 March 2003 to the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry under
Section 76 of the Act.

The Director General has published his advice on the proposed acquisition by
Avis Europe plc of certain assets of Budget Group Inc which was cleared by the
Secretary of State on 12 March 2003. This advice can be found on the Office of
