Transense Technologies plc ('Transense' or 'the Company') announces that it has
today entered into an arrangement, conditional inter alia on admission, to place
2,533,090 new ordinary shares of 10 pence each ('New Ordinary Shares') at 50
pence per share ('the Placing'), to raise approximately #1.27 million before
expenses.  The New Ordinary Shares represent 5.0 per cent. of the Company's
existing issued share capital, and will rank pari passu in all respects with all
other existing issued Transense ordinary shares.

The placing price represents a premium of approximately 6.4 per cent to the
mid-market price of 47 pence when the placing was arranged.  Application has
been made for the New Ordinary Shares to be admitted to AiM.  It is expected
that admission will take place on 3 September 2003.

The net proceeds of the Placing are expected to be approximately #1.23 million
and will be used to strengthen the Company's balance sheet.

The Company will be announcing its interim results on 3 September 2003.
