Too often in the investment industry the experts share their favorite picks with investors. And then at the bottom of the article it says "I currently have no positions in any of the stocks mentioned".
That drives me crazy!!!
Why is the idea good enough for someone else, but not for you???
So let's pull back the curtain and share with everybody what are truly the largest positions in our actual portfolios. I will start that off by sharing a few names:
Apple (AAPL): Best run company on the planet. Estimates keep going up, but the PE keeps going down. That ain't right. This stock is worth $550 plus by any reasonable valuation measure.
Shorting the long bond with TBF: US Treasury rates are at historical lows. It wont stay this low forever. So I am betting on a bottoming. This is not a matter of "if" it is only a matter of "when". So only get into this one if you have oodles of patience.
Caterpillar (CAT): The developing world is "developing". And for that they need to do massive infrastructure investments. Few companies are better poised to benefit from this than CAT.
That's a good start...how about you? Share your largest positions and why?
Reity
(Disclaimer: I own a boatload of every position noted above and proud of it).
