GUYMON, Okla., Dec. 22  /PRNewswire/ -- Seaboard Farms' Guymon, Okla. pork
processing plant recently celebrated a significant milestone in the area of
plant safety.  Total man hours surpassed 1.5 million without a lost time
accident.

The Guymon plant is no stranger to safety excellence.  According to the Bureau
of Labor Statistics, the meat packing industry's rate of injuries has decreased
to a mere 20 (per 200,000 man-hours).  In the past 12 months Seaboard Farms has
consistently maintained a rate of under 5.

Seaboard Farms' President Rod Brenneman was quick to give credit where credit is

The Seaboard Farms Guymon facility, as the newest such plant in the country, is

Okla. has been operating at full double-shift capacity for approximately five
years while employing 2,300 people.
