(OTC:QTUM) (BULLETIN BOARD: QTUM) , announces its sponsorship of the Florida International University Provost Lecture Series -- 2004. The inaugural session of the Provost Lecture Series entitled: "Higher Education: Are We Making the Grade?" was held in June. Quantum Group President and CEO, Noel J. Guillama, said of the event: "A solid foundation was established with this inaugural lecture from which to further enhance future programs, and to bring thought-provoking knowledge and opportunity to the residents of Wellington and the surrounding western communities. We, of The Quantum Group, are both honored and proud to be part of this initiative with Florida International University and The Village of Wellington." Guillama added, "The strong presence and participation of both residents and local government officials from within the western communities was vital to the success of the lecture. All in attendance walked away with a clearer understanding of the issues surrounding education in our community, and more determined than ever to work towards solutions." The series of six lectures will explore various issues that are of great priority to the residents of the western communities, such as education, healthcare, demographics diversity, biotechnology, conservation and the environment. Top FIU experts in those fields have begun to address these topics of interest to the western communities, beginning with the June lecture, and will continue on the third Tuesday of each month for the remainder of the year. Through this lecture series, FIU aims to facilitate ongoing citizen involvement, a key objective of residents in the western communities. The next lecture, entitled "Meeting Future Healthcare Needs in South Florida: A Positive Prognosis?" will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2004. This lecture will be presented by Dr. Robert J. Trenschel, D.O., M.P.H., Clinical Services Director for the Palm Beach County Health Department, and by Dr. H. Virginia McCoy, Ph.D., professor at FIU's Dr. Robert R. Stempel School of Public Health. The program will take place at the Wellington Community Center Meeting Hall, located at 12165 West Forest Hill Blvd. in Palm Beach County, on July 20, 2004, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. This event is open to the public, admission and self-parking are free.
