Completion of Sale and Leaseback



The board of Qualceram Shires PLC is pleased to announce that the sale and
leaseback of six of the Group's properties, described in the circular to
shareholders dated 13 March 2003 and approved by shareholders at the
Extraordinary General Meeting on 31 March 2003, has been completed today.  The
Group has received funds totalling approximately Euro26.25 million (net of
expenses) which will be applied in reducing bank indebtedness.
