Patient Safety Technologies, Inc. (AMEX:PST) announced
today that Chairman Louis Glazer, M.D., Ph.G., has been named to the
inaugural Executive Council of the Center for Patient Safety Research
and Practice at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical
School.
"The Center for Patient Safety Research and Practice was
established to create knowledge and ways to improve systems and change
the culture of medicine to embrace the safety of patients as the first
priority in providing quality care. A key strategy to sustaining this
work is to assemble the most influential group of leaders possible who
understand the potential for saving lives and improving the quality of
health care. We are pleased that Dr. Glazer has accepted our
invitation to serve on the Center's inaugural Executive Council," said

General Medicine, Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Professor of
Medicine, Harvard Medical School.

Chaired by Dr. Chuck Denham, Oncologist and Chair of the Texas
Medical Institute and the Leapfrog NQF Safe Practices Program, the
Executive Council of the Center for Patient Safety Research and
Practice supports research, education and awareness of efforts of the
Center and its partners to improve patient safety. Its primary
responsibilities are to advise on opportunities for where new
knowledge can make a meaningful impact and to assist in securing the
human, institutional and financial resources necessary to accomplish
the Center's goals.
