                     Monterrico Metals plc ("the Company")


As a result of the recent postal strikes, the Company has been made aware that
some shareholders who have elected to take up their entitlements under the
Placing and Open Offer announced on 15 October 2003, have been unable to do so
because their Application Forms have not yet been received by the receiving
agents, Capita IRG Plc.


In these circumstances, the Company and Collins Stewart have decided to extend
the deadline for receipt of Application Forms and payment in full under the Open
Offer to 3.00 pm on 7 November 2003.  As a result dealings in the Offer Shares
on AIM are expected to commence at 8.00am on 12 November 2003 and CREST member
accounts will be credited on 12 November 2003.
