Montericco Metals plc ("the Company")

Further to the announcements made by the Company on 3 April 2003 and 8 April
2003 in connection with its acquisition of the remaining interest in the Rio
Blanco copper project from Gitennos Exploration Inc for US #1.5 million, the
Company confirms that 412,092 Ordinary shares of 10p each ("the Consideration
Shares") have been issued in part consideration for this acquisition.

Application has been made for the Consideration Shares to be admitted to the
Alternative Investment Market which is expected to take place on 25 April 2003.
