                  MAGNUM POWER PLC ("Magnum" or the "Company")

                                 Change of Name


At an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company held on 9 June 2003
Shareholders approved, inter alia, a change of the Company's name from Magnum
Power plc to RAM Investment Group plc.

In the course of filing documents with the Companies Registry in Edinburgh on 9
June 2003, following the Extraordinary General Meeting, the Company was advised
that a prior registration of a company with a similar name had been effected
earlier on the same day in Cardiff and that as a result the Company's name
change could not be effected.  The Companies Registries in the UK do not operate
a name reservation service.

Accordingly, in the meantime, the Company will continue to operate with Magnum
Power Plc as its name.
