Lynch Corporation Names New Director 


PROVIDENCE, R.I., July 26  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- John C. Ferrara, a senior
financial executive with more than 25 years of experience in operations,
mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financing, business development,
strategic planning and corporate governance, has been named to the Board of
Directors of Lynch Corporation.  Lynch Corporation is a multi- industry company
that manufactures a broad range of capital equipment and custom-designed
electronic components.  The company's shares are traded on the American Stock
Exchange under the symbol LGL.

"John's expertise in all areas of financial management and his operational
experience make him a welcome addition to our board," said Ralph R. Papitto,
chairman and chief executive of Lynch Corporation.

Ferrara was the President and CEO of Space Holding Corporation until March
2002, and the Chief Financial Officer of Space Holding Corporation from
November 1999 to December 2000.  Headquartered in New York City, the company is
a multi-media enterprise devoted to people's fascination with space, science
and technological innovation.

He was Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Renaissance
Communications Corp., the Greenwich, Connecticut-based owner and operator of
television stations (1987-97), as well as Chief Financial Officer and Executive
Vice President of Golden Books Family Entertainment, Inc., the Manhattan-based
publisher, licenser, and marketer of entertainment products (1998-99).

Ferrara, a CPA, previously held financial positions at American Express
Company, the National Broadcasting Company and Deloitte & Touche LLP.  He is a
Director of Lynch Interactive Corporation, Gabelli Asset Management, Inc., a
member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACS), Financial
Executives Institute (FEI), and a member of the American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants.

A Stamford, Connecticut, resident, he is a graduate of the University of
Maryland (B.S. - accounting) and Columbia University (M.B.A. - finance).
