ION Media Networks, Inc. (AMEX:ION) today announced that Helen C. Karas has been named Senior Vice President of Network Sales. In this position, which will be based in New York, Ms. Karas will play a significant role in helping the company achieve its revenue growth initiatives by working closely with ION Television's advertising clients. "We are thrilled to have Helen join the ION team," said Stephen Appel, President of Sales and Marketing. "Her vast experience in family-oriented programming makes her a superb fit for our network and a tremendous asset to our sales operations." Ms. Karas brings to ION almost 20 years of experience in family-oriented television sales. Most recently, she has served as Senior Vice President of Advertising Sales for AMC/WE Television Networks. Previously, she was Vice President of Advertising Sales at Fox Family Worldwide and ABC Family and, prior to that, Senior Account Executive at A&E Television Networks. She has also served in various sales positions at the New York Daily News, NBC Television Network and Young & Rubicam.
