ION Media Networks, Inc. (AMEX:ION) today announced that Helen C.
Karas has been named Senior Vice President of Network Sales. In this
position, which will be based in New York, Ms. Karas will play a
significant role in helping the company achieve its revenue growth
initiatives by working closely with ION Television's advertising
clients.

Appel, President of Sales and Marketing. "Her vast experience in
family-oriented programming makes her a superb fit for our network and
a tremendous asset to our sales operations."
Ms. Karas brings to ION almost 20 years of experience in
family-oriented television sales. Most recently, she has served as
Senior Vice President of Advertising Sales for AMC/WE Television
Networks. Previously, she was Vice President of Advertising Sales at
Fox Family Worldwide and ABC Family and, prior to that, Senior Account
Executive at A&E Television Networks. She has also served in various
sales positions at the New York Daily News, NBC Television Network and
Young & Rubicam.

Ms. Karas holds an M.B.A. in Marketing and Organizational Behavior
and a B.S. in Marketing and Finance from Adelphi University. She is a
member of the Advertising Women of New York Executive Committee, the
International Radio and Television Society and Women in Cable
Telecommunications.
