Application has been made to the UK Listing Authority for the following
securities to be admitted to the Official List by way of a Block Listing. This
is an Overseas/Mutual Recognition application for the Issue of International
Specialist Securities.





DETAILS OF ISSUE: Block Listing of 215,900,000 H Shares of RMB1.00 each fully
paid at an initial conversion price of HK$5.558 per H Share, to be issued on
conversion of 153,800 0.75% Convertible Bonds due 2008 in the principal amount
of US$1000 per Bond.



The H Shares are listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the Official List of
the UK Listing Authority and the Convertible Bonds are listed on the Luxembourg
Stock Exchange and the Official List of the UK Listing Authority.
