Posted at 11/11/2005 23:15 by gj2 Hi all :Did surprisingly similar - bought 5000 in June'00 at 47.5p, then 5000 in Aug'00 at 53p ! Bought a few more in PEP (can't remember how many), got 304 more in the SCRIP issue in 2001. Also wrote to David Cust asking him why on earth did they send me a cheque for 42p as the remains from the SCRIP issue (too little to buy a whole share) rather than send it to charity or keep it, bearing in mind the administrative expenses. To his credit, he did write back and say that he had instructed the Registrars to send the residual amounts to charity, but somehow it hadn't happened. All in all a good, steady investment, and having held for so long, a bit strange to realise that there will never be a report / news item / dividend from them. Where can I find another little gem like this .. can you help again, John Lee ?? |

Posted at 26/7/2005 10:06 by vector Agree pvb - good value, div increasing, robust stocks like BCS are hard to find. Why do siemens want it anyway? |
Posted at 26/7/2005 09:59 by pvb Siemens_ AG, apparently. I made a mistake before, I see that the Int Div is INCLUDED in the offer price and so won't be paid if offer accepted. I got the Official notice via an email from Company Alerts, but I still can't see it in the BCS messages on CA. I'd have thoght the CA email alerts might lag the public postings on CA, not the other way round! Don't understand... |
Posted at 26/7/2005 09:34 by pvb But - interim dividend_ raised 7.5%. That's the other and important part of the story as far as I'm concerned. I have two holdings of BCS, one inside a PEP_ and one outside; I see that the respective average original dividend_ yields are 8.5% and 8.12% - and that's before the latest 7.5% increase.I'm going to miss it when it's gone; I'm not a trader_. pvb |
Posted at 26/7/2005 09:04 by renegade master personally more than happy - 20% in day will do me.. agreed eventually BCS would have been worth more than 120 a share.. but it would have been a long wait |
Posted at 08/4/2005 00:49 by cap123 Hi good peopledoes anyone know how much the divi payout was for bcs??? would appreciate the info Thanx |
Posted at 15/3/2005 17:33 by makingheaps Glad to see they.ve printed a retraction today. Should help the price recover a bit |
Posted at 10/3/2005 12:12 by diogenesj Nice results - thought they must be due about now! I expect it's the threat of a capital raising that has affected the share price. Still a good hold, I'd say, although not terribly cheap after the good rise over the last two or three months. |
Posted at 24/2/2005 09:10 by vector Have bought and so;d BCS over last few years and made profits but would have done better just holding which I am now doing. Good solid company irrespective of RB |
