SAN ANTONIO, May 29, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- EPIcenter, a nonprofit energy innovation hub, has announced its next phase of programming with the introduction of research-based publications. The first white paper, Solar+Storage: The Start, is an initiative among three of EPIcenter's strategic partners, CPS Energy, Renewable Energy Systems (RES), and Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), exploring the relationship between solar energy and battery storage.

Similar to EPIcenter's Summits and Global Lectures Series, these white papers are intended to spark interest in energy innovation and raise awareness of cutting edge research, testing, product and service development and business model initiatives. By taking a fresh look at exciting topics impacting the world in a non-academic and non-technical format, EPIcenter brings together strategic partners and leaders in energy innovation to engage broader audiences in critical conversations about the future of energy.

"Our goal in launching this new programming is to tell the story of energy innovation to a wider audience, and share the advances happening every day to make the production and consumption of energy faster, smarter, cleaner and more efficient," EPIcenter CEO Kimberly Britton said. "We believe that the broader dissemination of such concepts is required to ensure the needle moves in the energy industry. The findings of Solar+Storage could have a significant impact on the energy industry and the wide-spread adoption of renewables and increased grid reliability."

Solar+Storage partners SwRI's battery expertise with CPS Energy's need to better understand battery technology and its use in tandem with renewable sources. RES built the solar array for the project and looks to hone its expertise in the delivery of non-carbon-based energy. The initiative will span approximately five years, and EPIcenter plans to produce two more white papers discussing research, progress and data results.
