Sports Teams, Ice Centers to Receive Upgraded Communications Solution, Cost Certainty DALLAS and RESTON, Va., Jan. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- XO Communications, Inc. (OTC:XOCM.OB) (BULLETIN BOARD: XOCM.OB) today announced it has secured a three-year agreement to provide voice and data services to the Texas Rangers and Dallas Stars. Under terms of the agreement, XO will deploy communications solutions for the Rangers at Ameriquest Field in Arlington, for the Stars at their Frisco headquarters and at three Dr Pepper StarCenters located across the Metroplex. As a result, the combined entities will consolidate from four service providers to one. "First and foremost, we were looking for a partner that could address our near-term and future communications requirements," said Casey Shilts, executive vice president, Hicks Holdings. "We were most impressed with the quality of XO's service offerings, which will deliver improved functionality and performance over our current environment. At the same time, we benefit from communications cost certainty with a budget that is virtually unchanged." At Ameriquest Field, XO will give the Rangers a 25 percent increase in voice capacity, while doubling available data bandwidth. Stars headquarters will experience a similar increase in data bandwidth. XO's award-winning VoIP solution, XOptions Flex, will be installed at the three Dr Pepper StarCenters. Because Flex works with the existing communications infrastructure, there will not be a need to invest in new VoIP equipment to benefit from Flex's dynamic bandwidth allocation across a shared voice and data connection, producing a minimum of three times the currently available bandwidth at those locations.
