George's County, MD
WASHINGTON, March 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Washington Gas joined The National Housing
Partnership Foundation (NHP Foundation) to launch Operation Pathways, a
multi-faceted program designed to deliver critical services to residents. The
Operation Pathways program in Prince George's County, Maryland, is the first of
many local sites that The NHP Foundation will launch in 13 states over the next
12 months. Washington Gas will support local energy assistance activities in
association with the program.
Maryland Lieutenant Governor Michael Steele joined state and county officials as
well as community and business leaders on Saturday, March 13, for the launchof
Operation Pathways. The event took place at the Master's Child Church Worship
Center in Capitol Heights, Md. Lieutenant Governor Steele acknowledged the
importance of public-private partnerships and the role they play in supporting
model programs such as Operation Pathways.

other corporate sponsors for the event. Washington Gas provided an information
booth, where company volunteers distributed information about energy assistance
programs, payment options for natural gas utility bills, energy efficiency and
natural gas safety.

serves as a one-stop shop where eligible county residents can register for
energy assistance funds and learn about ways to manage their winter heating
bills. Washington Gas participates and serves as a sponsor of similar energy
assistance expositions in the District of Columbia and in Montgomery County,
Md.
