Polyair Customers 'Bubbly' Over Unexpected Savings and Teamwork
From Protective Packaging Company
CHICAGO, Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Polyair, http://www.polyair.com/, an industry
leader in the North American protective packaging market, continues to gain
ground through their complete focus on over-delivering on savings to their
customers. Polyair provides a team-focused approach that reviews every step of
their customer's packaging process and designs a fully customized system that's
integrated with existing facilities and objectives. Their ingenious approach
not only provides material cost savings but actually removes significant costs
from their customers' packaging process - savings beyond what their customers
were even expecting.
As showcased at ProMat 2005, held at McCormick Place South in Chicago from
January 10 - 13, 2005, visitors to the Polyair booth (#2577) are invited to
meet the Polyair team and review their comprehensive line of packaging system
solutions. Featured system solutions -- designed to work in any environment
across diverse business sectors -- include:
* AirSpace Pillow Packaging that provides on-demand air pillows for
cushioning and void-filling.
* Polyair's Sealer 2000 that creates extra large size pouches for
furniture and other large products to eliminate redundant packaging
including corrugated sleeves, plastic bags, foam, adhesive/cohesive
and standard bubble, decreases labor and is re-usable.
* Kangaroo Pouch Machine that creates custom, on-demand pouches at the
customer facility.
* Polyair Sheeter that provides on-demand foam or bubble sheets in
custom sizes to deliver big savings on inventory, labor, freight
material as well as eliminating lead times on custom sizes.
"Today with competition so fierce and margins so tight, it's important to go
beyond the usual packaging system solutions and deliver the next level of
savings," said Mitch Solway, Director of Marketing, Polyair. "At Polyair, we
strive to continually exceed customer expectations by carefully scrutinizing
their systems and processes looking to find every opportunity along the
packaging line to squeeze every penny out of their costs. When you're our
customer, you become part of the Polyair family that features a diverse,
professional and caring team who analyze your objectives, integrate with your
current facilities and bring to light a new packaging mindset that goes beyond
the equipment and materials to deliver breakthrough levels of savings and
efficiency."
AirSpace Pillow Packaging System 'Deflates' Competitors
"We deliver maximum cost savings and flawless design and execution to our
customers by drawing upon the human capital that makes Polyair unique," said
Trent Harkness, Product Manager for Integration for Air Space. "Our customer
installation engineers, installation and maintenance technicians, on-call
fabricators and on-site operator training and support work together to deliver
'made-to-measure' savings and efficiency to our customers."
Industry leaders including Amazon and Best Buy are veteran customers who
appreciate the reduced void-fill material and shipping costs, faster on-line
throughput, reduction in customer complaints and in packaging support labor and
the improvement in employee disability-related absenteeism that Polyair's
Airspace Program delivers.
Polyair is able to install the Airspace system with minimal or zero
interruption to current operations. Polyair delivers customized solutions to
all size work environments across multiple sectors including publishing, parts
distribution, cosmetics, drug and pharmacy, retail chain, mail order,
fulfillment centers, computer accessories, medical devices, video, CD and DVD
distribution and contract packaging.
Sealer 2000 Machine Seals Up Savings
Despite the declining furniture marketplace in North America, Polyair's sales
to this sector have more than doubled over the last two years. Polyair's Sealer
2000 Machine allows furniture manufacturers, and anyone else who ships large
products that require significant bubble and foam wrapping and material, to
drive costs down and protect their margins.
Polyair's Sealer 2000 allows customers to produce on-demand large size pouches
using Polyair's exclusive 3rd Web Center Folded Bubble with its unique High
Density High Slip inner layer. This unique inner layer delivers faster packing
and allows the product to slide on the bubble during transit, significantly
reducing damage from snagging with traditional wrap. This technology is ideal
for; sofa's, ottomans, chairs, tables, armoires, bed boards or any large
product requiring significant bubble and foam wrapping and material.
Norwalk Furniture and Federated Department Stores are industry leaders who
appreciate the cost savings and attention to customized integration that the
Sealer 2000 delivers. "Our exclusive Furniture Program Calculator lets
customers factor in labor, overheard and material to deliver actionable
savings," adds Solway. "To get the lowest possible cost, we help our customers
look beyond materials costs to review the entire packaging process."
"The Sealer 2000 eliminates the need for redundant packaging including
corrugated sleeves, plastic bags, foam, adhesive/cohesive and standard bubble
by allowing the formation of pre-set bag sizes that deliver an all-in-one
solution to pack furniture or other large objects," adds Harkness.
Made-to-Order Pouch
"Polyair's Kangaroo Pouch Machine is the first compact automatic pouch that
sits in a customer's facility," adds Solway. "Pouches are one of the best ways
for Polyair customers to save time and money when packaging products. This
product was developed as a result of feedback from many of Polyair's customers
who needed a quick, effective, customizable packaging solution. And to date,
we are still the only ones offering this type of application."
Polyair Sheeter 'Shears' Costs
Polyair's Sheeter provides on-demand foam or bubble sheets in custom sizes that
'shear' costs on inventory, labor and freight material as well as eliminate
lead times for custom sizes. The Sheeter uses standard roll stock with up to
eight pre-set lengths with an on-board photo sensor that offers fast delivery
and lower material costs and the ability to change sizes instantly.
