BATS Global Exchange Inc. (BATS) said on its website Friday that its exchange systems are operating normally, after a series of technical issues marred trading the morning of its initial public offering, halting trade of its own and Apple Inc.'s (AAPL) shares.
Apple's shares resumed trading after a five-minute halt on the Nasdaq. BATS shares were halted a little after 11:00 a.m. EDT and remain halted.
Spokespeople for BATS weren't immediately available to comment.
Nasdaq ruled scores of trades in BATS' shares were "clearly erroneous," leading the exchange to cancel all trades executed on the Nasdaq between 11:14 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Nasdaq said the decision cannot be appealed.
BATS, the U.S.'s third largest stock exchange company, priced its IPO $16 late Thursday. It sold 6.3 million shares at the low end of its expected $16 to $18 range.
