TIDMZOX RNS Number : 6453Q ZincOx Resources PLC 16 April 2009 16 April 2009 ZincOx Resources Plc ("ZincOx" or "the Company") Korean Long Term Supply Agreements signed ZincOx Resources Plc, which specialises in the recovery of zinc and zinc products from unconventional sources, announces today that its wholly owned subsidiary ZincOx Resources (Korea) Ltd has signed feed agreements with the nine largest electric arc furnace operators in Korea ("the Furnace Operators") for the supply of zinc bearing waste dust - electric arc furnace dust ("EAFD"). Andrew Woollett, Executive Chairman of ZincOx, said "We have been working in Korea for a number of years and these agreements now enable us to begin detailed plans for the development of an electric arc furnace dust recycling facility in the country. We are greatly indebted to the Korea Iron and Steel Association (KOSA) for their assistance in negotiating these agreements. This project, together with our advanced recycling plans in North America, will accelerate ZincOx into a significant recycler of EAFD". Under the agreements, the Furnace Operators have committed to supplying their EAFD exclusively to ZincOx for a minimum period of ten years from the commissioning of the plant. ZincOx plans to acquire a suitable site, carry out environmental permitting, optimise process design by testwork and complete a detailed feasibility and engineering study with the intention of commencing plant development before February 2011. The Furnace Operators comprise the following steel companies: Hyundai Steel, Dongkuk Steel, Daehan Steel, YK Steel, Korean Iron and Steel Company, Posco Specialty Steel, SeAH Besteel, Hwanyoung Steel and Dongbu Steel. Together these companies produced over 350,000 tonnes of EAFD in 2008, having a zinc grade of about 22%.
