RNS Number:1322Y Yorkshire Group PLC 29 April 2004 YORKSHIRE GROUP PLC PETER GYLLENHAMMAR RESIGNATION ANNOUNCEMENT On 26 April 2004, the Company announced that it was pursuing discussions with potential purchasers of its property assets and was having related discussions with its lenders to strengthen the financial position of the Group. These discussions have included the possibility of an injection of additional equity, Peter Gyllenhammar, a non-Executive Director and the largest shareholder in the Company, has indicated a willingness in principle to become involved in a transaction with the company in his capacity as a private investor. If he does choose to become involved as a counterparty, there is a strong possibility that conflicts of interest may arise between Mr Gyllenhammar's role as a Director of Yorkshire Group and his interests as a private investor. Mr Gyllenhammar has therefore decided that it is in the best interests of the Company that he resigns his Directorship with immediate effect, in order that he can act more freely.
