                      Yorkshire Group plc (the "Company")

                            Cancellation of Listing

The Company announced on 1 October 2004 that it was entering into the final
phases of negotiations for the disposal of some or all of the Company's
remaining assets and businesses and that it was continuing to review whether it
should make an application to the UK Listing Authority for the Company's listing
to be cancelled.

The Company has now concluded that an application to cancel the Company's
listing should be made and, following discussions with the UK Listing Authority,
the Company (anticipates) that the Company's listing will be cancelled with
effect from the commencement of trading on Thursday 7 October 2004.
