This is an announcement being made to comply with the relevant requirements of the Disclosure, Transparency and Listing

APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION 
 
Yamana Gold Inc. ("Yamana" or the "Company") announces that it has applied to the UK Listing Authority and the London 
Stock Exchange for, respectively, admission to the Official List and admission to trading on the Main Market of the 
London Stock Exchange ("Admission") of 4,663,105 new common shares in the capital of Yamana Gold Inc. (the "New 
Shares"). The New Shares which will rank pari passu with the existing issued common shares of Yamana have been allotted 
to the shareholders of Extorre Gold Mines Limited pursuant to the acquisition of that company by way of a plan of 
arrangement (the "Arrangement"), as previously announced on 22 August 2012. Under the terms of the Arrangement, each 
Extorre shareholder receives in exchange for each share held CDN$3.50 in cash and 0.0467 of a common share of Yamana. 
 
The New Shares are expected to be admitted to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and to trading on the Main 
Market of the London Stock Exchange at 8:00am on 11 September 2012. Yamana has also applied for the block listing of up 
to a further 1,157,868 common shares which, pursuant to the terms of the Arrangement, are to be allotted to holders of 
Extorre stock options ("Options") upon the exercise of such Options, based upon a share exchange ratio of 0.2648 of a 
Yamana common share for each Extorre common share which would have been issuable upon exercise of such Options prior to 
the effective date of the Arrangement. 
 
The issued share capital of the Company comprises 751,187,492 common shares, inclusive of the New Shares. None of these 
common shares are held in treasury. The above total voting rights figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator 
for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest, or change in interest, 
in the Company under the FSA's Disclosure Rules and Transparency Rules.
