XCounter delivers 1(st) prototype of the new photon counting detector to Artemis Imaging GbmH
XCounter AB (AIM: XCT) ("XCounter" or the "Company"), a technology leader in the development and supply of specialty X-ray detectors, announces the delivery of its first detector prototype based on the Company's state of the art photon counting technology (PCT) to its customer Artemis Imaging GmbH ("Artemis"). This delivery forms part of the ongoing development collaboration in which Artemis is developing an innovative 3-D mammography CT system.
The new breast imaging system will incorporate XCounter's innovative digital photon counting solid state detector platform, which enables fast, high quality 3-D imaging with the lowest possible radiation dose.
Under the collaboration agreement, the commencement of which was announced in December 2010, Artemis is funding XCounter's Mammo-CT detector development including delivery of a fully functioning detector prototype.
