RNS Number:7006R Wham Energy plc 26 September 2005 The 'Project Update' announcement for Wham Energy PLC released on 26 September 2005 at 07:01 under RNS No 7006R has been re-released to facilitate onward transmission by third party vendors. The announcement is unchanged and is reproduced in full below. DRILLING TO COMMENCE ON PROMETHEUS PROSPECT WHAM Energy plc is pleased to announce that it has been advised by Centrica plc that the Ensco 101 jack-up drilling rig is on location and is expected to start drilling the Prometheus prospect on exploration licence P1132 covering blocks 42/21 and 42/22 of the Southern North Sea. Drilling is expected to take approximately 40 days. WHAM Energy has a 20% working interest in the licence and is being carried through the drilling costs by Centrica plc. The well is planned to test a gas prospect in the Permian Leman sands at an approximate depth of 2745 metres. Tom Windle, Chief Executive of WHAM, commented, " WHAM has long pursued this prospect and is very pleased to see it drilled. It is a vindication of the DTI's Promote Licence round initiative, having acquired the prospect in the 21st licensing round. Now that we have achieved this goal we are vigorously developing additional drilling opportunities on our 22nd Promote licence awards. " Since WHAM incorporated in early 2003, we have come a long way having acquired 10 licences with a number of potentially very attractive prospects; been awarded an additional three blocks in the recent 23rd Licence Round; successfully launched on the AIM market; and now we are participating in a very exciting well." - ends - Date: 26 September 2005 For further information contact: WHAM Energy plc Tom Windle 020 7738 8730 Bridgewell Securities Limited Greg Aldridge/Andrew Matharu 020 7003 3000 cityPROFILE Oliver Winters 020 7448 3244 This information is provided by RNS The company news service from the London Stock Exchange END DRLEAPNKADDSEEE
