Director Appointment & Change of Company Secretary

As previously indicated at the time of West China Cement's Preliminary Results
("WCC" or "the Company") the board is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr.
Tian Zhenjun (aged 50) as Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer with
immediate effect. Mr. Tian has been an employee of West China Cement since 1998
having held various positions including Finance Director. Most recently he acted
as general manager of the Company's Lantian business.
The board is also pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Sin Lik Man as the
new Company Secretary in replacement of Mr. Tian.
There is no further information on Mr. Tian Zhenjun required to be disclosed
under Schedule Two, paragraph (g) (i)-(viii) of the AIM Rules for Companies.
