I don't think I've seen him described as this before ....

"Ex-De Beers luminary Karl Smithson"

It certainly sounds good for people looking at the new entity from a management perspective.

No worries, I was a bit dubious of posting such a comment as I thought there was more to it than that.

WAD may issue shares to Stellar Shareholders equal to three times WAD's current issued shares.

The New WAD then raises funds at 20p (if the article is correct)

This is the most optimistic option.

So is it fair to assume our share value allocation (when relisted) will be worth 5p and stellars at 15p

Redleafboy - Yes but expect consolidation. Guessing around 4 to 1 or 5 to 1, that sort of figure as it was stated it was a 75/25 merger so definately some sort of dilution..

Just guesswork on my part till we hear.

A merger is planned between Stellar Diamonds and West African Diamonds

Ex-De Beers luminary Karl Smithson has launched his planned merger between Stellar Diamonds and West African Diamonds.

Stellar intends to come to AIM by reversing into West African, formerly a vehicle of veteran Irish entrepreneur John Teeling, and raising £7 million at 20p. African Aura Mining (formerly Mano River Resources), a fellow AIM counter with interests in West African diamond and mineral prospects and Stellar's controlling shareholder, will emerge with a major stake in the enlarged group if the deal goes through.

Smithson will head the new company, which will start with estimated resources of 1.2 million carats, indicated and inferred, from current projects. He and colleagues point to the high grades of up to 500 carats per 100 tonnes of rock predicted in some of its key projects and indicate talks are afoot about acquiring fellow AIM concern Petra Diamonds' Kono project in Sierra Leone (which has overcome past problems
